While UGC does not condone the use of hacks and takes cheating and sportsmanship rules very seriously, we have decided that some players do perhaps deserve a second chance. They have realized the error of their ways and wish to return match play. The path to admittance into our probation program will not be easy or short. The following steps must be followed. There will be no exceptions or special treatment.
Applying for UGC’s probation program:
1. Player must have served a ban of at least 6 months from the date listed on the UGC ban list prior to being considered to enter the probation program. Any banned player caught aliasing in any league in which that player is banned after August 15, 2005, will have their ban date reset, and their 6 month wait period starts all over. Any banned player that is caught hacking again will have their ban date reset to the most recent violation.
2. Player must find a clan willing to sponsor them. That clan must be well established and be in good standing with the league. The clan must have played at least 10 matches in UGC. Clans that have many complaints or have team violations won't be allowed to be a sponsor. Each clan may only sponsor one banned player at a time unless they get the approval of the head division admin and senior staff.
3. Clan leader must email UGCprobation@ugcleague.com stating intent to sponsor the player to obtain clearance on eligibility of BOTH the player and the sponsoring team prior to submitting the formal probation request. The request must include what divisions the team is sponsoring (7v7, 5v5 or both). UGC Staff will then evaluate the teams eligibility to sponsor a player and reply to the team leader after the determination has been made either by email or IRC.
4. Player must inform Team leader in writing the following items:
a. Reasons and date of ban.
b. Any and all steam id's player has played under, past and present.
c. Reasons why UGC should allow player to enter probation system.
5. Clan leader then posts player's request in the Team leader's forum and emails a copy to UGCprobation@ugcleague.com. The request must include what divisions the team is sponsoring (7v7, 5v5 or both). It is discussed on that thread for a period of 1 week, and then voted on in that thread for a period of 1 week. Each Clan will have one vote but may make as many comments as they want. After this 2 week period, UGC will evaluate the results of the discussions and poll and make a decision on whether to approve or deny the application.
6. If the applicant was denied, they must wait three months before they can apply again.
7. If the applicant was approved he must follow the rules of probation in addition to the normal league rules.
Probation rules:
Players violating any of the listed restrictions will be removed from UGC's probation program and will have to wait another 3 months to reapply unless otherwise noted.
1. Player must follow all UGC rules. If probation rules are stricter, those apply.
2. Unnecessary mm1, bad sportsmanship or other conduct violations will not be tolerated.
3. Sponsoring team has the responsibility to turn over personals of the player on request by the opposing team or by the admins, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Failure to produce a personal demo means the player may be removed from the probation program and placed on the ban list, and the team may also serve a 1 week suspension. HLTV will be used to determine if the player was using any cheats. If there is any doubt, match will be overturned and awarded to the other team.
4. Sponsoring team is required to submit logs (Blarghalyzed or raw) from EVERY round to Probation Staff (UGCprobation@ugcleague.com) within 48 hours of completion of each match, regardless if the Probationary player participated in the match, or not. (Foomed logs will not be acceptable, as they do not include players' STEAM_ID's) Teams may also submit any player's personal demo's in lieu of logs, if they wish. If your team recieves a forfeit win or loss, a simple email explaining this should be sent, instead. Failure to do so will result in a warning. Teams that repeatedly fail to provide logs will face suspension and possible removal from UGC, and the Probationary player may be removed from probation and placed back on the ban list.
5. Player must play under his rostered name. Roster name will be the same as the name listed on the probation list.
6. Player can't clan-hop. If they leave their sponsoring team (or their sponsoring team leaves UGC) they can't play again until finding a new sponsor. They do not have to reapply, but their new host must meet all qualifications for sponsoring a probationary player. The new sponsoring team must submit the request to UGCprobation@ugcleague.com before rostering the player. (A post on the leaders forums is not necessary)
7. Player must find a sponsor for both 7v and 5v if they wish to play in both divisions. They may play for the same team if sponsored team is in both divisions without reapplying.
8. If the player on probation is caught cheating, he is permanently banned and may NEVER apply for probation in UGC again, and sponsoring team receives 2 weeks suspension.
9. If there is evidence that the sponsoring clan knowingly lets the player cheat, the clan will be removed from UGC. All matches played with probation player will be overturned and remaining team members will serve a 4 week suspension. People directly involved may also be removed from UGC and added to our ban list.
10. All probationary players will be listed here. The information will include player name, sponsoring team’s name, reason for ban and steam id.
11. Release from probation will occur after the probationary player has served 1 year in the probation program, and has had a satisfactory record within it. If, after release, a player is found to be hacking, they will be returned to the banlist, and will not be eligable for probation again. The released player will be listed here, for record-keeping.
Team leaders: please understand the risk to your team you are undertaking by sponsoring a banned player. While you may want to give a friend a second chance, be very sure he will not violate any of the listed rules.
UGC reserves the right to deny any player admittance into UGC’s probation program. UGC reserves the right to refuse release from the probation program to anyone, for any reason, by it's sole discretion. UGC also reserves the right to request personals from any/all released probationary players, at any time. UGC also reserves the right to cancel this program at any time, without prior notice or reason. It is by our generosity that we allow banned players to return to UGC. Please use this opportunity to regain your honor and enjoy playing the game the way it was intended.
