Die-No :
After 8 seasons of highlander, I can safely say this was the weirdest, most disorganized/random match I have ever had. We requested to play on process, which the team allowed, and they asked to use a ringer, which I allowed. TMP and Carl were not responding last minute, and I attempted to get to both of them. I sent Carl over one thousand messages on facebook, and his phone was ringing for the next 2 hours. I found a way to completely destroy a phone's usability and battery, so the match started with me learning new things. TMP unfortunately never responded, and so I used bwat, a rostered sub. Carl was able to demo, which broke our "We have a new demo every week" record. The match started on time, and then the oddness began.
Right off the gate, they sent a demoknight (their ringer) out to mid. This actually worked for a small amount of time, as the charging took us off guard and ended with a dead medic in the first round. We fought them back, and pushed them to last, before a failed push sent us back to our last. Another demoknight charge caught us off guard again, and they took the first round. Their ringer then switched to soldier.
The second half proceeded normally, with us taking the round and tying it up. It was then that things really took a turn for the odd. Their ringer, now on engineer, started talking about trollish girl problems, and then SWITCHED TO OUR SIDE DURING OUR ROLLOUT TO "ASK US FOR ADVICE". I have never seen that, but our team ignored them and rolled out, 10 v 8 (though their player never left our spawn). We easily took mid and fourth, and after a fair bit of time, took the round. With less than a minute, that started half.
The enemy team insisted on switching, which some teams do on symmetrical maps. However, during the bit of time that we were on the same team, they started insulting us. Afterwards, they insulted our medic, saying that their female medic had a better voice than ours and was a cooler person. They (by they I mean approximately 4 of their players) began to launch discriminatory insults at our team, as well as complaining about the amount of time we spent in half. We spent about 2 minutes from start to end in halftime, due to two of our players wanting to get drinks.
Once the round started, the server lagged a bit. One of their players stated in chat that their med could not switch weapons, so as we took mid, we asked them if they wanted us to reexec the config. Two of their players say yes, and while our server owner spent less than a minute to reexec, they retook mid. 4 of their players then proceeded to complain that we reexecced the complain, while another two insulted their team.
All this would just be another odd match if it wasn't for what happened next. They rolled out to mid with two soldiers, and won the midfight. They then proceeded to laugh at the config that allowed them to do this. I messaged their leader, asking if they had more than one soldier, and he stated that they did not. In the confusion, they were able to win the round, as my team was not playing to their maximum abilities due to the fact that there was a debate within our mumble on if they were cheating or not.
I did not report this as a score for them, as I later found out from the STV demo that they did have two soldiers. I messaged their leader, and he started by asking why it mattered, before blaming the config, and finished it up by asking wtf it matters. I do believe that this wasn't intentional on their leader's end, but not once did he apologize for the incident. All he did was blame the config, before blaming the rest of his team for making him look bad.
Once we had a combined 4 wins, they asked if they were done. I stated there was one more point needed, as two of their players disconnected. Another player stated they were "forgeiting", which I took to be forfeiting, which led to us not really contesting mid. However, it turned out they were not forfeiting, and kept fighting, taking mid in the surprise. The rest of the team joined, and we finished by winning the round.
I'm not being this open for retribution or anything like that, and I don't believe there was any malicious intent from their leader. However, this was one of the worst experiences in a match I've ever had, and I want to be open so that other teams can be wary when facing these guys in the remainder of the season.
