In the next few days UGC-TF2 will release details on our new format for a league starting this summer. I think you will like our alternative league, and it will be a fun place to meet new opponents.

Season Two warmup has begun, we are looking for a start in a few weeks.
We will have some changes in our setup - This will be posted when we gather a sufficient number of clans to begin.
Our league will be playing on Mondays at 930pm ET - Use the join form on the left. |

 | Our map this week is cp_science, a standard CP type map with 5 control points. The map is in final version, with well set cap times and spawn times, and is a good match map. Download from our Files page. |
We will use our standard ugctf2-CP.cfg server config which has the settings : mp_winlimit "3" (3 wins by one team ends the match half) mp_maxrounds "5" (A maximum of 5 map rounds are played) mp_timelimit "40" (A timelimit safety valve)

 | By Clan request we are playing the stock Valve map cp_dustbowl.
We use our ugctf2-AD.cfg for this map, which means each Clan attacks once in each Match Half. Good Luck on this classic map. |
In other news you may have noticed we merged our UGC Highlander Division with this one, so that we can focus on building a strong 8v8 league. That brings our clan base to 5 solid Clans, each ready to play some fun TF2. Our trial season #1 will be wrapping up in the next few weeks, and we will need many more clans to start in a new season.
Also K}{H Moon Guardian has come over from Highlander staff to co-admin here. With that strong addition, we are ready to go.
Our League will continue to focus on mixing great custom maps with standard classic ones. Each of our custom maps will be well tested and ready for Match Play, we will not play maps with flaws or any design deficiency that will make match play "unfun". Our UGC-TF2 8vs8 League will continue to be the first league to play great custom maps, so that your clan will be one step ahead of the competition in other leagues. |

| Next week's Match Map is a Dustbowl-type AD map called cp_castle3. Recently updated by it's designer Villepickle, it features 3 map sections and 5 Control Points similar to the sequential AD approach of cp_dustbowl. |
The map can be downloaded from our Files Page. We will play each match half using the ugctf2-AD.cfg (mp_maxrounds 2). This means each team attacks once in each match half.
Please let me know if your clan is ready to play on Monday.
Our UGC-TF2 8v8 league needs new clans, if you can help or would like to play some fun TF2 on Mondays, submit an application. We have an extra TF2 server available for Match use, if a clan need a short term loaner to get started. Thanks! |

| Next week's Match Map is a gravelpit type AD map called cp_junction. It features an interior map design, with the same A, B, C control points that gravel pit has. It should prove to be a fast paced fun map for 8vs8. |
The map can be downloaded from our Files Page. The map has short cap times to speed play, so we will play each match half as ADx2 - mp_maxrounds 4. This means each team will attack twice per match half. I will add a server cfg for this called ugctf2-ADx2.cfg
In other news we welcome a new clan called oxyMORONS to our TF2 8vs8 League. The clan is run by Tolkienfanatic, a good name for sure. One of our existing clans, CT chaos theory, has asked to play a standard Valve map, so in deference to them we have added gravel pit as the final regular season map of our season 1. Good Luck and Have Fun on CP_junction!

Holiday Byes until Jan - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Match Recap: cp_science_b4 proved to be a very fun and well balanced map. We played one full round lasting an hour and ending with a 3-1 score. The CPs traded hands many times, making for an exciting match. GG! this map is a keeper.
During the holidays I will be on the search for new clans for our league, give me a pm in IRC if you would like to help out. |

Monday we play new map called cp_science_b4.  The map may look complex at first, but it is a straight 3 CPs in line between spawns and two more CPs offset to the sides. A simple layout with a lot of architecture.
This should prove to be a fun map. We play CP style maps with a combination of winlimit and timelimit. A final server cfg will be posted on friday after more testing.
Recapping our match on ctf_impact_b4 - This map proved to be a little tight in design for 8vs8. The FOoM vs X match went into OT. The map designer was watching our UGC-TF2 match and has already changed the layout of impact based on our matches. His new version opens the map up dramatically, and should help with TF2 CTF gameplay.
