S20 Week 8 - Product & Platinum Playoffs Week 1 - Best of 3

Congratulations to the NA Platinum and EU Platinum teams that made it to their first week of Playoffs! Things are beginning to heat up as the remainder of the league plays their last regular match of the season and gets ready to move onto their first week of Playoffs the following week! Playoff brackets will be available shortly, so please check back every now and then.

Map & Matchplay

  • Match Date: Monday November 14th
  • Match Play:­ The winning team is the first to score 4 TOTAL round wins. The match is played in two halves. The first half is over when one team scores 3 round wins. The second half is over when one team scores their 4th cumulative round win (including round wins scored in the first half) or when the other team scores 3 round wins. If scores are tied 3-3 after two halves then another round is to be played. Best of 3 Maps & Matchplay for NA Platinum and EU Platinum ONLY

NA Platinum and EU Platinum are using the Pick/Ban System for choosing maps for their Playoff Week 1 - Best of 3 match.
Playoff Matches are played Best of 3 Maps (with each map played as 1 half only)

  1. Home Team bans 1st map (7 choices)
  2. Visiting Team bans 2nd map (6 choices)
  3. Home Team picks Map #1 (5 choices) - Map is played on Home Team's server.
  4. Visiting Team picks Map #2 (4 choices) - Map is played on Visiting Team's server.
  5. Visiting Team bans 3rd map (3 choices)
  6. Home Team picks Map #3 (2 choices) - Map is played on Home Team's server.

Remember that during Best of 3 matches we play each map a little differently than we did during the regular season. Please read below.

  • KOTH Maps - Played to 3 wins. This map type cannot be tied.
  • CP Maps - Played to 4 wins or highest score after 30 minutes.**This map type can be tied after 30 minutes. If this occurs then you MUST play 1 additional Overtime round to determine the winner of the map. Whichever team caps all the points first in the OT round will be declared the winner of that map. *If neither team manages to capture all points during the first OT round, a second special OT round is to be played. In this round, whichever team caps the center CP first wins the game. Note: This ONLY occurs if a 2nd OT round is actually needed.
  • Payload and Attack/Defend Maps - Played as *1 half (i.e. each team attacks and defends once).* These map types cannot be tied. Optional: Teams may agree to play Payload/AD like a normal match instead of just 1 half, but both must post their agreement in Match Comms prior to match.

Only maps played in regular season or playoffs of the current season can be picked. Product is excluded because it wasn't part of Platinum regular season.
Once a map is picked, it can't be picked again.
Map choices must be made in Match Comms and will be reviewed by an admin.

Map choices must be made and posted to the Match Comms by 11:59 PM (your local time zone)­ on Saturday November 12th.
Teams cannot agree on map changes after Saturday. Once maps have been picked and banned they are considered to be locked-in!

 

Reminders for Team Leaders:
  • You are ­­­required­ to use the Match Comm panel every week to coordinate your match date, time and server. You can access this by logging into the site with your leader username and password that was sent to you when your team was created. Click on the "Match List" tab to find this week's matchup.­
  • All discrepencies will reference the Match Comms as the official form of communication between teams!
  • Forfeit matches will not be accepted if there are no posts in the Match Comms panel!
  • If you need to rent a UGC server for your match, please go ­­here.
  • The leader of the winning team should report the match score as soon as the match is over.
  • If neither team reports the match score the match will go as unplayed and your teams will be moved to Not Ready.
  • Teams are not allowed to change the map under any circumstances.
